Saturday, October 8th, 10am - 2pm

Pontchartrain Conservancy (PC) is seeking volunteers on Saturday, October 8th, from 10am-2pm to assist in weeding and maintenance of our Bucktown Nursery.

PC staff will lead volunteers in weeding the potted trees and adding fresh soil to the pots as needed. Please come prepared with sturdy shoes, sun protection, and water. PC will also be providing drinks and snacks.

Our nursery is located at 399 Plaquemine Street in Metairie. Parking is available on the first floor of the Brown Foundation parking garage (located off Seminole Avenue) or street parking is available along Metairie-Hammond Highway.

Bucktown Nursery is home to over 4,000 native trees including bald cypress, water tupelo, live oak, and green ash. These trees need your help! This upcoming fall, these trees will be planted throughout the swamps of Southeast Louisiana as part of our coastal restoration efforts. Come help support the reforestation of our vanishing coastline.
