Bucktown Marina Oak Tree Planting Event
-Join us on February 8th with the Pontchartrain Conservancy as we come together to plant 100 oak trees and native shrubs around the Bucktown Marina. Urban tree plantings play a crucial role in providing habitat for migratory birds, reducing local temperatures, and preserving native species like live oaks, which are integral to Louisiana's natural history. This volunteer event is a fantastic way to help protect Louisiana's natural and cultural heritage.
Please wear closed-toed shoes (boots will be provided if needed), check the weather beforehand, and dress appropriately for outdoor work—long sleeves and windbreakers are recommended. Water and snacks will be provided, but bringing your own water bottle is encouraged. Join us in making a difference!
