Makenzie Reich is an AmeriCorps member serving as the Education Assistant at Pontchartrain Conservancy. She recently graduated from Loyola University New Orleans. During her studies, she was a part of Students for Sustainability, where she successfully advocated for improving environmental policies and procedures. She has a bachelor's in visual communications and a minor in environmental studies.
Before joining Americorp, she backpacked the islands of New Zealand for two months, where she sought to better understand the importance of biodiversity, water quality, and energy conservation. Makenzie has used her passion for the environment and expertise in communications to create media focusing on environmental awareness and education. She has worked with clients ranging from local nonprofits to national organizations and meets new challenges with out-of-the-box solutions. In her spare time, she enjoys cooking and is currently on a quest to make the perfect Hungarian potato soup
