Presented by Entergy!

Pontchartrain Conservancy was hosting Storm Sweep designating May 2022 to clean up the Lake Pontchartrain Basin and promote storm preparedness education. Hurricane season is on the way, and we intend to be prepared!  Together we'll remove trash and debris so that our catch basins can adequately route stormwater out of our neighborhoods and our waterways can be litter-free!

Storm Sweep 2022 was a major success! In total, over 4 tons of trash and debris were collected. Thank you to all volunteers who went out and cleaned their neighborhoods!

To kick off Storm Sweep 2022, Pontchartrain Conservancy partnered with Keep Louisiana Beautiful and hosting a cleanup as part of their "Love the Boot" Week. This event happened in Covington on April 22 (Earth Day).
Our volunteers came together to show their love for Louisiana. Love the Boot Week was dedicated to cleanup and beautification events in all 64 parishes across our great state. Together we can take positive steps to create a better life for all of us and protecting our state from litter.

Storm Aware & Prepare!

Storm Sweep concluded on May 28th, 2022 with Storm Aware and Prepare! It was a beautiful day at the New Canal Lighthouse, and we ran out of all food and supplies two hours early. Thank you to all partner organizations and volunteers who made Storm Aware and Prepare possible: Entergy, NOLA Ready, Restore the Mississippi River Delta, All Hands and Hearts, and more!

In addition to the "Love the Boot" cleanup, you can choose the cleanup location that best fits your schedule or participate in multiple cleanups. Create your own event and track your results in the Clean Swell app OR stay tuned to our social media pages for volunteer cleanup opportunities.

Rather use pen and paper? You can download a data card here. Please be sure to email us your results so we can share what all of our volunteers accomplished!
